How Luck Can Change Your Life

18,000 of the world's top investors come from around the world to attend and listern to Warren Buffet, Bill Gates and Charlie Munger at the Berkshire Hathaway Annual Meeting. I try to go every year.

The interesting thing is, they should have taught us all the stuff in school.

You can come to this annual meeting and learn more than you learn in two years of school, because one of the things they forget to teach you in school is about investing money.

Which basically means you're gonna be a salary slave for the rest of your life because the true definition of investing is making your money work for you while you sleep. That's passive investing.

Active investing, or you know getting a job, is where you invest your own time, your own energy, your own money to make more money, but the problem is you and I run out of energy, and we run out of time.

So one of the things the top investors talk about is setting a small amount of money aside and putting it into something that makes money for you while you sleep. Use other people’s energy and other people’s time. Don't be a salary slave your whole life.

If you only have income from your own occupation then you’ve guaranteed to limit yourself to how much time and energy you can put into your occupation. The most that’s possible is 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year, and that’s if you don’t take a single second off…ever.

That’s why the world has become enslaved financially. You got 1.2 trillion in college debt, just in the United States, that’s not counting credit card debt, not counting long-term debt like mortgages and things like that. Some debt is okay to have, but not when you’re a slave to it.

One of the things you’re gonna have to do is self-educate. Trust me, by the time the school system figures out how to do it right, it will be too late for you and I, in terms of what we learn in school. So you got to replicate the school system, but in a way that’s advantageous to yourself.

In general one of the things that changes your life the most, and there’s a good book on this by one of the top business writer’s Jim Collins, are luck events of who you meet. I went to the Omaha Nebraska Berkshire Hathaway Investor meeting because being around other investors increases the chance of a luck event happening. I deal in-person, but when you can’t do it in-person, it can be through a book or through a video that teaches you how to become an investor.

Life not just all about facts though. It’s not like you just invest in real estate or invest in the stock market and automatically you make money. No, it’s more sophisticated than that. Doesn’t mean it’s hard, it can be easy if you know what to look for. You have to pick up vibes from people, their habits, their intuition, that’s how you become a great investor.

Stay strong,

Hi, I often tell people that genius is not so much talent as it is attitude… You see, your attitude is the environment you decide to carry with you during the day. It proclaims to the world what you think of yourself and indicates the sort of person you have made up your mind to be. A genius attitude is deciding that you can do well at anything you make up your mind to do. When you do that, you give the project all you’ve got, and in doing so, attract the favorable attention of others. Attitude is one of the most commonly used and yet most misunderstood words in the English language. However, if you understand what attitude really is, you’ll know how to bring the best of you to the surface every day... To your success, Bob Proctor Chairman & Co-Founder Proctor Gallagher Institute
Hey Tai here, Sometimes it's hard to find somebody to help. There's a lot of need out there in the world. The way I look at it, in the world with all the suffering, you've got to earn the right to drive a Rolls Royce by making sure you give back. I gave $500 to a homeless man and his dog once and he thanked me by saying  “there is a God.” Now some people would probably say he might use that money for drugs and alcohol, and there's some truth to that, but I don't know. At this point in my life I don't feel like it's my place to judge everything, figure everything out, and try to help. Some people use it the right way, some people abuse it, but for the people that do use it, at least people didn't hold back giving because of the people who do abuse it. You know what I mean? Plus with that guy, I kind of have a soft spot for dogs. He's got his dog, and hopefully he buys some dog food, vet bills. You know I feel like animals are a lot of times helples...
I’m going to tell you something you’re not going to hear too often that can help you beat. You need to know your competition’s strengths and weaknesses as well or better than your own. This lesson can be applied throughout your life. Any time you have competition in life, you need to know their strengths and weaknesses, so you can know how to improve your own venture to beat them out.  Sun Tzu, the famous ancient philosopher says,   "If you know the enemy and know yourself, you need not fear the result of a hundred battles. If you know yourself but not the enemy, for every victory gained, you will also suffer a defeat. If you know neither the enemy, nor yourself, you will lose in every battle." Sun Tzu says in his book  “The Art of War”  that there are three levels that you can be at when it comes to knowing your competition. The lowest level you can at is level three. That basically means that you don’t know your competition, and even...
